While the First Family vacationed in Martha’s Vineyard, the Oval Office [1] got a facelift.  Obama appointed designer Michael Smith, who is gay, to the Committee for the Preservation of the White house in February.  The renovation included new chairs, new lamps, new wallpaper and reupholstered couches.  The new look debuted during the President's address from the Oval Office last Tuesday.
